Journal De Folie Journal De Folie

Updates 09.05.2026

Submissions for Issue One are now open until March 20, and our free member area is now live for readers.

As Journal de Folie continues to grow, we’ve realised that many writers and artists simply weren’t aware of the journal when we first began accepting submissions.

For that reason, we’re extending the Issue One submission deadline to March 20. We don’t want timing or visibility to be the reason someone misses the opportunity to share their work.

If you’ve been considering submitting, there is still time.

We’ve also launched our free member area, where readers will be able to access the digital magazine, follow editorial updates, and stay informed about upcoming issues and events.

A Summer's Day, Frederick Morgan (1888)

Dearest Reader,

With just nine days remaining before submissions close, we wanted to share a brief update on how things are progressing behind the scenes at Journal de Folie.

The response to our debut issue has been amazing. When we first opened submissions, we weren’t sure how many writers and artists would find their way to us. Seeing so many people wanting to contribute to this growing community has been both humbling and energising.

If you’ve been considering submitting but haven’t yet had the chance, there is still time. Submissions remain open until 13 March.

And if you find yourself slightly past the deadline, you are still welcome to email your work to us. While we cannot guarantee consideration after the closing date, we will do our best to include late submissions in our readings while we prepare the final shortlist.

As we move toward the deadline, we also wanted to share a little about what happens next.

The journal will be available to read online through our website. Readers will be able to access the issue by creating a login, and the digital edition will remain free to read.

For those who prefer to feel the pages as we read, and many of us still do we will also be offering printed editions of the journal, with worldwide shipping available.

This project began with a simple idea: to create a space where emerging and established voices could share work that feels sincere, exploratory, and alive. Watching that idea begin to take shape has already been incredibly rewarding.

Thank you for being part of this early chapter of Journal de Folie.
